NHL: Anaheim 5, Chicago 3

CHICAGO, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Joffrey Lupul scored two goals Wednesday night to help Anaheim top the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-3.

Teemu Selanne, Scott Niedermayer and his brother, Rob, all had one goal, and goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 36 of the 39 shots he faced for the Mighty Ducks (1-0), who improved to 3-9-0 all-time in season openers.

Mark Bell, Curtis Brown and Rene Bourque scored a goal each, and goal-tender Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 19-of-24 shots for Chicago (0-1), which fell to 34-28-17 all-time in season openers.
