MLB: L.A. Angels 5, N.Y. Yankees 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Orlando Cabrera hit a two-run single in the seventh inning Wednesday night as the L.A. Angels beat the New York Yankees, 5-3.

The best-of-five American League Division Series now stands at a game apiece.

Juan Rivera and Bengie Molina each hit solo homers for the Angels. Molina, who has homered in both games of the series, had two hits and two RBI for the Angels.

Winning pitcher Kelvim Escobar (1-0) hurled two innings of scoreless relief, and Francisco Rodriguez, who gave up a leadoff homer to Jorge Posada in the ninth, earned the save.

Posada went 2-for-3 and Robinson Cano collected his fifth RBI for the Yankees.

Loser Chien-Ming Wang dropped to 0-1 after yielding four runs and six hits over 6 2/3 innings with no walks and one strikeout.

The series shifts to Yankee Stadium for Game 3 Friday night.
