NFL: New England 30, Oakland 20

FOXBORO, Mass., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Tom Brady passed for 306 yards and two touchdowns Thursday night as defending champion New England opened the season with a 30-20 win over the Oakland Raiders.

Brady was 24-of-38 and did not have an interception as the Patriots raised their mark to 5-1 in season-opening contests at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots rose to 25-3 all-time at the facility.

Corey Dillon added 63 yards on 23 carries and had two rushing scores.

Controversial wide receiver Randy Moss, making his Oakland debut, had five receptions for 130 yards and one touchdown. He was acquired from Minnesota in an off-season trade.

Also for Oakland, quarterback Kerry Collins went 18-of-40 passing for 265 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. LaMont Jordan added 70 yards rushing on 18 carries.
