MLB: St. Louis 5, San Francisco 4

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- A key two-run double by Jim Edmonds Friday night helped St. Louis beat San Francisco, 5-4.

In relief, winner Julian Tavarez rose to 2-2. So Taguchi extended his hitting streak to a career-high 12 games, Yadier Molina went 3-for-4 and Mark Grudzielanek had two hits for the Cardinals, who have won four of six.

Losing pitcher Jeremy Accardo sank to 0-3. Ray Durham homered and had two RBI and Omar Vizquel homered for San Francisco, which lost its second in a row following a three-game winning streak.
