Stewart wins Allstate 400 at The Brickyard

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Tony Stewart captured Sunday's Allstate 400.

His No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet crossed the finish line 0.794 seconds ahead of runner-up Kasey Kahne, giving Stewart his fourth win of the season and 23rd of his Nextel Cup career.

"If I died right now, my life would be complete," he said afterwards.

The race at The Brickyard was run before more than 250,000 fans.

Elliott Sadler was the pole-sitter at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Brian Vickers, Jeremy Mayfield and Matt Kenseth completed the top-five with Casey Mears, Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Sterling Marlin and Kyle Busch in spots 6-10.

Not only did Stewart win the race, but he jumped to the top in the Nextel Cup points standing. With 2,923, he leads Jimmie Johnson (2,848) by 75 points and Greg Biffle (2,812) by 111.
