PHILADELPHIA, July 24 (UPI) -- Ryan Howard had three hits and one RBI Sunday as Philadelphia beat the San Diego Padres, 5-1.
Jason Michaels added a two-run single for the Phillies, who swept the three-game series.

Winning pitcher Brett Myers (8-5) allowed one run and five hits in six innings with one walk and six strikeouts.
Billy Wagner worked a scoreless ninth.
Loser Brian Lawrence sank to 5-10. He yielded four runs and five hits in six innings, walked two and fanned four.
Brian Giles knocked in the Padres' lone run.
San Diego has lost seven in a row. Philadelphia has won eight of its last nine games against San Diego.
