MLB: Pittsburgh 7, Tampa Bay 2

PITTSBURGH, June 10 (UPI) -- Mark Redman allowed two runs on eight hits over seven innings Friday in helping Pittsburgh down Tampa Bay, 7-2.

Redman improved to 4-4 as the Pirates won for the fourth time in five games. Daryle Ward drove in three runs.

Hideo Nomo was making his third try to win the 200th game of his career, but he gave up five runs and dropped to 3-6.

The Pirates never trailed and grabbed the lead in the first on a pair of sacrifice flies.
