MLB: LA Angels 4, Chicago White Sox 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 24 (UPI) -- Adam Kennedy drove in two runs to lead the L.A. Angels of Anaheim past the Chicago White Sox 4-0, in the opener of a four-game set in Anaheim.

Ervin Santana (1-1), pitched a five-hit shutout , walking one and fanning seven for the Angels, who have won four of five and seven of 10 overall.

Jon Garland (8-1), who lost for the first time this season, pitched well, but surrendered three runs on 11 hits and one walk.

Darin Erstad and Orlando Cabrera had three hits apiece and each scored a run for the Angels, while Tadahito Iguchi and Paul Konerko each registered two hits for the White Sox.

Bengie Molina added a solo homer in the Angels' eighth to account for the final run of the game.
