Kenny Perry back in golf's top 10

PHILADELPHIA, May 23 (UPI) -- His seven-stroke win at the Colonial golf tournament over the weekend put Kenny Perry back into golf's top 10 in the latest world rankings released Monday.

Vijay Singh unseated Tiger Woods as the No. 1 player in the world, according to the Official World Golf Ranking. Neither Singh nor Woods competed at the Colonial, but Singh overtook Woods, who lost more points and fell to No. 2.

Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and Retief Goosen came in third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Adam Scott improved one spot to No. 6, with Chris DiMarco at No. 7, Sergio Garcia remaining No. 8, Perry was No. 9, and Padraig Harrington 10th.

Perry, who also won the Colonial by six shots in 2003, jumped six spots to return to the top-10 for the first time this year.
