BOSTON, May 8 (UPI) -- The Boston Red Sox won their fifth straight game Sunday, beating Seattle 6-3 in the first game of a doubleheader.
Seattle has lost seven straight.

Kevin Millar drove in three runs with a double and Jay Payton added two RBI for Boston. Richie Sexson had two RBI and Ichiro Suzuki scored twice for the Mariners.
Boston starter Jeremi Gonzalez (1-0) was the winner, yielding four hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings. Joel Pineiro (2-3) took the loss.
