NBA: Memphis 104, Toronto 74

TORONTO, April 6 (UPI) -- Pau Gasol scored 26 points Wednesday night as Memphis stayed on track for a playoff spot by thrashing Toronto, 104-74.

It was Toronto's most one-sided loss in seven years.

Bonzi Wells had 21 points and Shane Battier 16 in helping the Grizzlies win for the third time in four games.

Memphis began the night in eighth place in the Western Conference, one game behind Denver.

Toronto was paced by Jalen Rose with 19 points.

Memphis owned a 13-point lead after one period and then blew the game open by starting the second quarter on a 20-4 run.

The Grizzlies shot 58 percent in the first half and led by as many as 37 points in the third period.
