NBA: Denver 94, New Orleans 83

NEW ORLEANS, April 6 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 18 points Wednesday night in pacing Denver to its fifth straight victory, 94-83 over New Orleans.

The Nuggets, who have won 11 of their last 12, also got 16 from Andre Miller and 12 each from Wesley Person and DerMarr Johnson.

Denver moved within a half game of Houston for sixth place in the Western Conference and maintained a one-game advantage over Memphis.

New Orleans was led by Dan Dickau with 20 points.

The Nuggets built a 13-point halftime lead and boosted it to 23 midway through the third quarter.

New Orleans used a 14-1 run to get within seven with less than three minutes to play, but the Hornets came no closer.
