NBA: San Antonio 102, Chicago 99

SAN ANTONIO, March 4 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan put San Antonio in front with 37 seconds remaining Friday night and the Spurs held on to defeat Chicago, 102-99.

Duncan scored 31 points in boosting San Antonio to its third straight win. Tony Parker had 25 points as the Spurs held on despite letting a 16-point lead slip away in the second half.

Chicago was paced by Ben Gordon with 20 points.

Gordon scored seven straight points to complete a Bulls comeback and tie the game at 90-90 with 4:09 to go.

Chicago took the lead with 2:04 left on another Gordon jumper, but Manu Ginobili tied it for San Antonio with 1:35 left and Duncan put the Spurs in front with his 18-foot shot.

Kirk Hinrich missed for the Bulls and Duncan then made two free throws to clinch the contest.
