Josh Smith wins NBA dunk contest

DENVER, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Atlanta Hawks rookie Josh Smith prevented a Phoenix sweep Saturday night by winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

Phoenix Suns guard Quentin Richardson won the Three-point Shootout, Phoenix point guard Steve Nash won the Skills Challenge and a team from Phoenix won the Shooting Stars Competition.

Smith, 19, was joined in the dunk finals by Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire.
