JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Coach Andy Reid said Friday it will make no difference whether wide receiver Terrell Owens starts Sunday in the Super Bowl.
Reid said that Owens would likely get into the game at some point in a situation that would be favorable for the Eagles.
Although doctors have not cleared him to play, Owens has said he will be on the field Sunday after recovering from ankle surgery.
"Whether he starts or not, that's irrelevant," Reid said in his last news conference prior to the game. "We've got it broken down by different plays we'd like to see him in there.
"If one of those happens to be the first play, it's the first play. If not, then Freddie (Mitchell) will be there."
New England Coach Bill Belichick said he expected to see Owens in action.
"If he's out there, he's going to be able to run and play," Belichick said. "Whether we can cover him or not, that remains to be seen. But they're not going to put the guy out there in a wheelchair."
