NFL: New England 21, San Francisco 7

FOXBORO, Mass., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Tom Brady threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns and Corey Dillon ran for 116 yards and one TD Sunday as the New England Patriots beat San Francisco, 21-7.

Brady completed 22 of 30 passes while the Patriots (14-2) earned their second consecutive 14-win season and extended their home winning streak to 19 games.

Kevan Barlow ran for 103 yards for the 49ers (2-14), who suffered their third straight loss and posted their first 2-14 season since 1979.

Ken Dorsey threw for 189 yards, including a four-yard touchdown pass to Steve Bush in the first quarter for San Francisco's lone points.

New England had already wrapped up the No. 2 seed and first-round bye for the upcoming AFC playoffs.
