NBA: Denver 111, Washington 105

WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Andre Miller and Carmelo Anthony combined for more than half of Denver's points Wednesday night in carrying the Nuggets past Washington, 111-105.

Miller had a season-best 34 and Anthony contributed 23 as the Nuggets won their third straight. Washington had won four in a row.

Gilbert Arenas led Washington with 28 and Antwan Jamison had 27.

Washington fought from behind all night and got within four points with 53 seconds remaining. But Denver put the game away with two free throws by Kenyon Martin and a field goal from Miller with 25 seconds to go.
