NFL: Oakland 25, Denver 24

DENVER, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Kerry Collins put Oakland ahead with 1:49 left Sunday night and Langston Walker then blocked a field goal try, giving the Raiders a 25-24 win over Denver.

Despite a steady snowfall and temperatures in the teens, Collins threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns in knocking Denver out of a share of the lead in the AFC West.

He hit Jerry Porter with a five-yard, fourth-down touchdown pass to put the Raiders in front. A two-point conversion attempt failed.

Jake Plummer guided Denver into field goal range, but Darius Watts dropped a potential touchdown pass in the end zone, after which Jason Elam lined up for a 42-yard field goal attempt.

Walker got his right hand on the attempt.

Oakland improved to 4-7 while Denver fell to 7-4. San Diego, which defeated Kansas City earlier in the day, took over the top spot in the division at 8-3.

San Diego hosts Denver next Sunday.
