COL FB: California 38, Arizona 0

TUCSON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Aaron Rodgers passed for 229 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead the No. 8 California Golden Bears to a 38-0 victory over the Arizona Wildcats.

J.J. Arrington rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Bears (5-1, 3-1 Pac-10), while the Cal defense posted its first shutout since 1999.

Rodgers hit 20-of-28 passes and had all of his touchdown throws in the first half as the Golden Bears led 28-0 at intermission.

Geoff McArthur led California with six catches for 93 yards, including a 11-yard score just before halftime, to become the Golden Bears' career leader in receiving yardage.

Mike Bell ran for 99 yards for Arizona (1-6, 0-4), which has dropped six in a row since a season-opening win over Northern Arizona.
