CHICAGO, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Braves beat Chicago 8-6 Saturday, eliminating the Cubs from playoff contention.
The loss was the fifth straight for Chicago.

The National League East-champion Braves came from behind with three runs in the eighth inning. J.D. Drew hit a two-run triple in the rally.
Eli Marrero hit a home run for the Braves.
Moises Alou and Aramis Ramirez hit back-to-back homers fro the Cubs in a four-run fifth inning. Sammy Sosa also homered for Chicago.
Kevin Gryboski (3-2) was the winning pitcher and John Smoltz got his 44th save.
