ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Detroit right-hander Jeremy Bonderman tossed a four-hit 8-0 shutout against Tampa Bay in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday.
The Tigers battered Devil Ray pitchers for 16 hits, including a home run by Ivan Rodriguez.

The 21-year-old Bonderman (11-13) allowed two singles, a double and triple in the second complete game and second shutout of his career.
Dewon Brazelton (6-8) took the loss, pitching 5 2/3 innings.
