MLB: Florida 9, Montreal 1

MONTREAL, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Carl Pavano worked seven innings and Miguel Cabrera hit a home run Wednesday night to carry Florida past Montreal, 9-1.

It was the last game for the Expos at Olympic Stadium. Earlier in the day, it was announced the franchise would move to Washington next season.

Pavano (18-8), allowed one run on seven hits with three strikeouts and a walk. Sun-Woo Kim (4-6) gave up five runs in two innings to take the loss.

Montreal will finish with at least 90 losses for the fifth time in seven seasons.
