NFL: Pittsburgh 13, Miami 3

MIAMI, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers beat Miami 13-3 in a muddy, rain-soaked battle at Pro Player Stadium Sunday.

Rookie quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass and Jeff Reed kicked two field goals for the Steelers.

Roethlisberger, making his first NFL start, was 12 of 22 for 163 yards and an interception. Nine of the completions were to Hines Ward.

Duce Staley ran for 101 yards for the Steelers (2-1).

Miami quarterback A.J. Feeley was 13 of 27 with two interceptions and a fumble.

The Dolphins are 0-3.
