NEW YORK, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced Sunday that the league will donate $1 million to assist victims of the hurricanes in Florida.
The money will go to the United Way Disaster Relief Fund.

Tagliabue said the league and United Way have a 31-year partnership in serving communities nationwide.
The NFL has three teams based in Florida and will play the Super Bowl on Feb. 6 in Jacksonville.
The state has been hard hit by hurricanes during the past month.
