SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The San Jose Earthquakes and Los Angeles Galaxy in the Western Conference played to a tense scoreless draw in San Jose, Calif., Saturday.

The contest saw few scoring chances, but a good deal of physical play.

Ryan Suarez, Ronnie Ekelund teamed up with Jeff Agoos for a special free kick, but goalkeeper Kevin Hartman kept them from scoring.

Shortly afterwards, the Galaxy nearly scored after Carlos Ruiz used his body for a long ball and found Cobi Jones.
