MLB: Baltimore 14, NY Yankees 8

BALTIMORE, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- B.J. Surhoff drove in four runs and Miguel Tejada had a homer and three RBI Friday night as Baltimore smashed the New York Yankees, 14-8.

Melvin Mora added three hits and a homer with three runs scored to help the Orioles end New York's five-game winning streak.

The Yankees began the evening with a 3 1/2-game lead over Boston in the American League East.

Baltimore trailed by one before scoring eight times in the third.

With the bases loaded, New York starter Javier Vazquez walked Tejada, hit Rafael Palmeiro with a pitch and then walked Javy Lopez for three runs.

Surhoff then delivered a two-run single.

Tejada took over the major-league lead in RBI from Boston's David Ortiz with 125.
