MLB: Anaheim 21, Kansas City 6

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Jeff DaVanon drove in four runs to lead Anaheim to a 21-6 humiliation of the Kansas City Royals, completing the Angels' three-game sweep.

"To call this a great offensive night would be an understatement," said Angels manager Mike Scioscia.

The score set a new club record, surpassing a May 10, 2002, 19-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

DaVanon is the fourth player in Anaheim history to hit for the cycle and the first to accomplish the feat since Dave Winfield at Kansas City on June 24, 1991.

For the Royals, David DeJesus went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI while Abraham Nunez had a two-run homer among his two hits.

Ramon Ortiz took the win for Anaheim despite allowing six runs and 12 hits in six innings.
