NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- The New York Knicks obtained guard Jamal Crawford and forward Jerome Williams from Chicago Thursday as part of a six-player deal.
The Knicks sent forward Othella Harrington, guard Frank Williams and centers Dikembe Mutombo and Cezary Trybanski to the Bulls.
"Our goal is to win the NBA championship and we think the additions of Jamal and Jerome will be important pieces of that puzzle," said Knicks president Isiah Thomas. "Both players have the winning mentality to succeed as Knick players."
Crawford, a restricted free agent, was acquired in a sign-and-trade deal. He averaged 17.3 points and 5.1 assists in 80 games for the Bulls last season. He was one of four players last season to score 50 points in a game.
Williams spent time with Toronto and Chicago last season, his eighth in the NBA.
