MLB: Chicago Cubs 13, Cincinnati 2

CHICAGO, July 22 (UPI) -- Greg Maddux moved within two victories of the 300 mark Thursday as the Chicago Cubs crushed Cincinnati, 13-2.

Aramis Ramirez highlighted the Cubs' offense with a grand slam and Moises Alou added two home runs.

Maddux (9-7) gave up two runs on solo homers, struck out six and walked none. He went the distance for the second straight start -- the 105th complete game of his career.

Ramirez hit his grand slam in the sixth off reliever Ryan Wagner to make it 12-2. Chicago pounded out 14 hits and Alou produced the 25th multi-homer game of his career.
