Gordon wins another NASCAR pole

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 1 (UPI) -- Jeff Gordon made it three straight NASCAR Nextel Cup poles Thursday mogjt, posting the fastest qualifying lap for Saturday's Pepsi 400.

Gordon posted a lap of 188.659 miles per hour at Daytona Speedway in his Chevrolet, just ahead of Michael Waltrip (188.620) and Ricky Rudd (188.426).

Dale Jarrett and Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounded out the top five.
