MLB: Detroit 5, Phil. 4 (2nd Game, 11 inn)

PHILADELPHIA, June 17 (UPI) -- Carlos Guillen's RBI single in the 11th inning Thursday night lifted Detroit to a 5-4 win over Philadelphia in the second game of a day-night doubleheader.

After Philadelphia posted a 6-2 triumph in the opener, the Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead against starter Kevin Millwood. But the Phillies climbed within a run before rain delayed the game after the fifth inning for 51 minutes.

Philadelphia took advantage of the rest, rallying for a pair of runs in the seventh to move ahead, 4-3. But with one out in the ninth, Brandon Inge belted a solo homer off Wagner to send the game to extra innings.

In a series that saw Tuesday's opener delayed by rain and Wednesday's contest postponed, both teams loaded the bases in the 10th but failed to push across the go-ahead run.

Phillies rookie Ryan Madson (4-2) appeared on his way to a quick 11th, retiring the first two batters, but Guillen hit the last of three consecutive singles to put Detroit ahead.
