LONDON, June 10 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Andy Roddick reached the quarterfinals Thursday in the Stella Artois Championships, a grasscourt tuneup for Wimbledon.
The American defeated Mario Ancic of Croatia 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4.

Roddick is the defending champion in the Queen's Club event played two weeks before the Wimbledon Championships.
Sebastien Grosjean, the fifth seed, advanced with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Ian Flanagan, a British qualifier.
Other winners included Lleyton Hewitt of Australia, Paradorn Srichaphan of Thailand, Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic, Karol Beck of Slovakia, Korean Hyung-Taik Lee and Russian Igor Andreev.
