MLB: Arizona 6, Los Angeles 5

PHOENIX, June 6 (UPI) -- Carlos Baerga delivered a game-tying single in a three-run seventh inning Sunday as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-5.

Baerga has struggled exclusively as a pinch hitter for the Diamondbacks this season, managing only four hits in 35 at-bats. He was hitless in his previous 19 at-bats before breaking through Sunday.

Los Angeles had a 4-2 lead when reliever Darren Dreifort (1-1) issued a leadoff walk to Chad Tracy followed by an RBI double from Robby Hammock. Hammock moved to third on a sacrifice by Alex Cintron and Baerga -- hitting for pitcher Scott Service -- followed with his first hit since May 8 to forge a 4-4 tie.

Hammock drove in a run with a double in the eighth.

Service (1-0) recorded the win after throwing only one pitch, getting Adrian Beltre -- who homered twice -- to fly out to end the seventh.
