Luis Ayala pitched a scoreless seventh and Chad Cordero a perfect eighth before Rocky Biddle worked out of trouble in the ninth for his 11th save in 13 opportunities.

The game was tied, 2-2, before Terrmel Sledge led off the seventh with a bunt single against Reds starter Jose Acevedo (3-4). Two outs later, Wilkerson sent a 3-2 offering over the wall in right for his ninth homer of the season.
