SURREY, England, May 28 (UPI) -- England's Justin Rose took a two-shot lead Friday midway through the Volvo PGA Championship.
Rose shot a 6-under-par 66 at the Wentworth Club for a 36-hole total of 133, 11 under par.
First-round leader Ernie Els of South Africa shared second place at 135 with Darren Clark of Northern Ireland, Phillip Price of Wales and Joakim Haeggman of Sweden.
Els, who had a 64 in the first round, shot 71.
"I lost the lead, but I didn't lose too much ground," Els said. "It could have been a really tough day because I was very shaky at first, but I tried to hang in there."
Four players were three strokes back at 136: Anders Hansen of Denmark, Marcel Siem of Germany, Angel Cabrera of Argentina and Ian Poulter of England.
World No. 2 Vijay Singh shot a 73 and was in a tie for 16th.
