Biffle wins Busch Stater Brothers 300

FONTANA, Calif., May 1 (UPI) -- Greg Biffle's win in Saturday's NASCAR Busch series Stater Brothers 300 was a fuel economy run.

Biffle's Ford Taurus was the first to pit, taking just a splash of fuel with 10 laps to go. With a car battling low oil pressure, Biffle appeared to end his chances at a victory by making the stop.

But with the cars running ahead of him started to run out of fuel, Biffle drove to the checkered flag for his second win of the season.

Tony Stewart, another Nextel Cup driver, was second in a Chevrolet, followed by the Monte Carlo of Stacey Compton. Nextel Cup regulars Matt Kenseth in a Ford and Kasey Kahne in a Dodge intrepid rounded out the top five.

Kenseth started 20th and led much of the race. With five laps to go, he gave up a huge lead to pit for about a gallon of fuel.
