CHICAGO, April 16 (UPI) -- Sammy Sosa and Moises Alou hit back-to-back home runs in the ninth inning Friday, giving the Chicago Cubs a bizarre 11-10 win over Cincinnati.
Sosa tied it with a blast over the right field fence. It was his 512th homer as a Cub, tying Ernie Banks' team record.
Alou won it two pitches later with his second homer of the game. He also slugged a two-run homer in the third.
The ninth-inning dramatics capped an eventful game that featured the ejection of both managers, a controversy over a double switch, an umpire leaving with food poisoning and eight homers.
With the Cubs trailing, 9-5, Ramon Martinez appeared as a pinch hitter and started seventh with a double. But after a Cincinnati protest, plate umpire C.B. Bucknor ruled the umpires were not informed of the double-switch by Cubs Manager Dusty Baker.
Martinez was called out for batting out of order and an irate Baker was ejected after throwing his cap and kicking the dirt.
