VOORHEES, N.J., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Flyers All-Star center Jeremy Roenick underwent surgery for a broken jaw Friday and will be sidelined indefinitely.

"He (Roenick) will miss significant time," Flyers Coach Ken Hitchcock said. "I don't think anyone knows the exact time. It'll certainly be a lot longer than two to three weeks."

Roenick missed 3 1/2 weeks with a similar injury as a member of the Phoenix Coyotes when Dallas' Derian Hatcher broke his jaw during the 1998-99 season.

On Thursday night, a shot by Rangers defenseman Boris Mironov felled Roenick, who lost consciousness and came to in a pool of blood.

Philadelphia lost its other All-Star center moments later as Keith Primeau was left dazed by a collision with Bobby Holik.
