NBA: Dallas 118, Seattle 116

SEATTLE, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Antoine Walker hit a jumper at the buzzer Tuesday to give the Dallas Mavericks their season-high ninth straight win, 118-116 over the Seattle SuperSonics.

Dirk Nowitzki nailed 8-of-11 3-pointers and scored a career-high 43 points.

Mavericks guard Steve Nash made a 3-pointer to tie it, 116-116, with 36 seconds left. But both teams squandered chances to go ahead on their next possessions.

Rashard Lewis missed a layup with 21 seconds remaining, then fouled Nowitzki out of frustration. After Nowitzki missed both free throws, Ray Allen appeared to draw a foul but no call was made as he misfired on a layup, setting the stage for Walker's heroics.

Nash finished with 19 points while Walker and Michael Finley added 17 apiece.

Lewis scored 30 points for Seattle. Antonio Daniels contributed 21 points off the bench and Allen chipped in 20.

Seattle outshot Dallas, 54 percent (43-of-79) to 48 percent (43-of-89).

Nowitzki scored 17 points in the third quarter, hitting 5-of-5 3-pointers, to help Dallas take a 92-88 lead into the final period.
