NHL: Tampa Bay 2, NY Rangers 1 (OT)

NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Defenseman Jassen Cullimore scored 2:03 into overtime and John Grahame made 22 saves Sunday as Tampa Bay edged the New York Rangers, 2-1.

Cullimore joined the rush to help the Lightning grab their second win in as many trips to Madison Square Garden. Left alone in the slot, he fired a wrist shot into a vacated net to secure Tampa Bay's third straight victory.

Grahame got the nod ahead of usual starter Nikolai Khabiblin for the third game in a row.

After Alexei Kovalev tallied on New York's second shot of the game at 4:06 of the opening period, Grahame and the Lightning defense frustrated the Rangers.

Tampa Bay tied it just over 2 1/2 minutes later as defenseman Dan Boyle put a rebound past goaltender Mike Dunham. But Tampa Bay could not cash in on seven power plays.

The Lightning have won four of five following a 4-12-4 stretch.
