COL BK: Wake Forest 97, Elon 55

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Eric Williams scored 16 points Saturday to lead No. 21 Wake Forest to its 15th consecutive win in a home opener, 97-55 over Elon.

Justin Gray and Jamaal Levy contributed 13 points each as the Demon Deacons beat the Phoenix for the 20th straight time and improved to 32-6 in the all-time series.

Kyle Visser helped Wake Forest (2-0) with 12 points off the bench, and Levy also pulled down eight rebounds. The Demon Deacons have won 18 consecutive home games, the seventh-longest streak in the country.

Freshman guard Chris Paul had six points and five assists in his home debut for Wake Forest, which shot 55 percent from the field (36-of-65).

Elon (0-3) was never close, missing 10 of its first 11 shots and falling behind, 16-2, in the first eight minutes. It got worse from there as Wake Forest led, 25-9, with seven minutes left in the first half and 40-20 at the break.
