NHL: Colorado 5, Nashville 3

NASHVILLE, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Milan Hejduk scored two second-period goals Saturday night to help the Colorado Avalanche top Nashville, 5-3.

Also for the winners, Peter Forsberg added a goal and two assists. Hejduk scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season in a 1:48 span early in the second.

Scott Hartnell got Nashville on board 48 seconds later, but Forsberg scored his fifth goal at 12:13 to give Colorado a 4-1 lead.

Nashville's Andreas Johansson collided with Colorado defenseman Rob Blake with 9:40 remaining in the opening period and left the game with a cut above the left eye.

The Predators suffered their third straight loss.
