Betts suffers fractured bone in forearm

ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Washington Redskins running back Ladell Betts will miss at least one game because of a fractured left forearm.

Betts suffered the injury in Sunday's disappointing 24-7 loss at Buffalo.

Against the Bills, Betts was making his first career start in place of Trung Canidate, who missed the game with a sprained right ankle. Betts gained 11 yards on eight carries before his injury.

It is uncertain if Betts will miss more than one game. The Redskins (3-4) have a bye next week. They play at Dallas on Nov. 2.

Without Canidate and Betts, kick return specialist Chad Morton and Rock Cartwright received the bulk of the carries in the second half against the Bills.
