NHL: Nashville 4, St. Louis 1

NASHVILLE, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Marek Zidlicky had a goal and an assist and fellow rookie Dan Hamhuis scored his first NHL goal Thursday night in Nashville's 4-1 win over St. Louis.

Zidlicky, who was acquired in the deal that sent goaltender Mike Dunham to the New York Rangers last season, scored the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Dallas on Saturday.

The Czech Republic native got it started for Nashville Thursday with a power-play goal 8:18 into the first period and assisted on Hamhuis' goal, which also came with the man advantage.

Vladimir Orszagh scored a shorthanded goal with 8:37 left in the third period to increase the lead to 3-1 and Andreas Johansson completed the scoring with an empty net goal.
