FBC: USC 44, Stanford 21

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Mike Williams hauled in three touchdown passes from Matt Leinart Saturday night as ninth-ranked Southern California ripped Stanford, 44-21.

In the win, Williams topped gained at least 100 yards receiving for the fourth time this season as the Trojans rolled to their 700th victory. Leinart threw for 249 of his 260 yards in the first half and completed 18-of-27 passes.

Southern California (5-1, 2-1 Pac-10), which also extended its home winning streak to 12 games, became the 10th school to reach the 700-win plateau. The Trojans are 30 victories behind Tennessee for ninth place.

Michigan has 828 wins to lead the nation.

"The university got its 700th win," said Coach Pete Carroll. "I'm glad to have something to do with it (the history), though in a small way. It was nice to contribute."

Stanford (2-2, 0-2 Pac-10) scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter in a nine-second span, but really was never in the contest. The Cardinal trailed, 41-14.
