Cleveland 13, Boston 4

CLEVELAND, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Josh Bard homered off Derek Lowe and added a two-run single in a seven-run outburst as the Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Red Sox, 13-4.

Lowe (16-7) had not lost since Aug. 8 and was 4-0 with a 1.90 ERA in his career against Cleveland. He took a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

Bard drilled his eighth home run with one out to shave the deficit to 4-2. Jhonny Peralta and Angel Santos followed with singles and Coco Crisp hit a slow grounder. Second baseman Damian Jackson fielded it and attempted to tag Santos crossing to second, but lost the ball to load the bases.

Lowe uncorked a wild pitch that scored Peralta. Casey Blake lined a two-run double down the left field line to give Cleveland the lead for good and end Lowe's night.
