BLACKSBURG, Va., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Unfortunately for him, the brother of Michael Vick has made a name for himself.
Marcus Vick, the younger brother of the star quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, has been benched for one game for a violation of team rules at Virginia Tech.
This Saturday, the ninth-ranked Hokies host in-stated rival James Madison.
Coach Frank Beamer announced late Monday that junior linebacker Brandon Manning also has been suspended for the game for a similar reason. He said he would have no further comment.
Marcus Vick, a redshirt freshman and also a quarterback, played in the Hokies' 49-28 win over Central Florida on Sunday. In the win, Vick, the backup to Bryan Randall, was 7-of-10 for 102 yards and one touchdown.
His more-publicized older brother, also a quarterback at Tech, is recovering from a broken right leg and likely will miss half the NFL season.
