Another player transfer from Baylor

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- The beleaguered basketball program at Baylor lost another player Tuesday when guard Kenny Taylor his transfer to Texas official.

Taylor was named to the Big 12 Conference all-improved team last season after averaging 11.8 points per game, and starting all but one of the Bears' contests.

"I want to make it clear how much I love Baylor University," Taylor said. "I always wanted to spend my entire career at Baylor and never had any intentions of leaving. Obviously, some things have happened beyond my control, which forced me to look at some different options. When I looked around, Texas was the best fit for me to complete my education and play basketball."

The Big 12 Conference Council of Faculty Athletics voted in August to waive the intraconference transfer rule for Baylor men's basketball players.

The waiver allows the student-athletes to transfer to another Big 12 school without the loss of a season of eligibility.

It comes in the wake of the alleged murder of former teammate Patrick Dennehy, an alleged cover-up plan orchestrated by former coach Dave Bliss, and transfers by other players, including forward Lawrence Roberts, a preseason Wooden Award candidate who averaged 15.2 points and 10.4 rebounds last season.
