Henman upsets Roddick to reach final

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- nBritain's Tim Henman reached his first final in more than a year Saturday when he beat Andy Roddick in the semifinals of the Legg Mason Classic.

The 10th-seeded Henman ousted the second-seeded Roddick, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1), to advance to his first championship match since losing at Queen's Club in June 2002. The last of 10 career titles came at the AAPT Championships at Adelaide, Australia in January 2002.

Roddick reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last month and had won three of his last five tournaments.

Top-seeded Andre Agassi took on No. 4 Fernando Gonzalez of Chile in the evening semifinals.
