MIAMI, June 26 (UPI) -- University of Miami officials said Thursday they will announce on Monday whether the school will move to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The executive committee of the university's board of trustees met with Miami President Donna Shalala and Athletic Director Paul Dee on Thursday, but no vote was taken.

Shalala said the delay partially was attributed to the school receiving counterprosals from the Big East Conference.
There was also a published report in Washington that Virginia Tech had decided to leave the Big East and become an ACC member.
The ACC has formally invited both Miami and Virginia Tech to join the league.
